I have admired the Japanese culture’s affinity for beauty ever since I was a young girl. They bequeathed much to us. The first thing that comes to mind is Sushi, my favorite cuisine. When preparing to shoot your company, video, one of the best tips we can give you is to remember Murphy’s Law and plan for chaos. The best-made plans sometimes go awry so be ready for extra takes, more interviews and B-Roll, etc.,
Create a Google account, and then request testimonials from your clients (if, indeed, you have worked together – otherwise, don’t) and then don’t just park them there, spread them around. Add these testimonials to your website, sprinkle liberally in your emails, and on your brochure. Don’t be shy about blowing your own horn.
As a member of LinkedIn, there are a few groups to which I belong. Sometimes I’m fortunate enough to stumble across a great discussion regarding business or in particular, the field of broadcast production and multimedia. The following discussion, in which professionals share their own personal stories of their best career move, I felt was worth sharing with you….. Interspersed are some production stills we have shot over our years of producing and shooting video here in San Diego.
Good news, bad news: We have been working more on production and editing gigs, but I have less time for business blogging. It’s a real Catch 22 – I’ve got lots of fun stuff to blog about, but hardly any time to do it.
Promoting your company is number one on your marketing list. There is a local company for which we have done several videos in the past. We worked with a woman there who really loved our work. One of the videos we produced for them was instrumental in winning the company a prestigious award. So it was easy to believe that whenever this company required any video production work they would certainly call on us.
